Black Sand was one of the hardest tracks to pin an arrangement down on as it just never seemed to end. We kept coming up with more and more riffs playing around on the 8 string guitars for the first time. With its sort of middle eastern/Egyptian vibes on the riffage I (Cody) decided to write the lyrics about the classic 2001 action adventure film The Mummy 2 (who can forget that CGI scorpion king?!)

Exiled, scorched wind whips sand into the skin.
Driven by vengeance, consumed by hate,
my prolonged suffering seals their fate.
Defiled, how dare they cast doubt upon the king.
With this pact unto the darkness
I will destroy their everything!

Arise undead soldiers of retribution.
We are the antithesis of parturition;
Cursed militia in my name.
I have now become death; the destroyer of worlds.
You are the plague to our enemy,
they shall turn to ash by our flame.
