about
Sin Eater was one of the first tracks I started working on when the new album writing kicked off. I knew I wanted something fast and thrashy, but with some balls to it, so we knew this needed some old school 80's thrash riffs tuned down on a 7 string. What we ended up creating might not be your typical thrash, but it's our take on it and it's a damn fun song to play! This song is really more about the atrocities in the Philippines rather than any US politics!
lyrics
Always lurking in-between the fine lines,
pulling the strings setting the standards of life.
Casting shadows of misery and doubt,
muting the sun, keeping puppets under clout
These ropes that bind us they start to fray.
(We won't be lead astray.)
The walls that hold us begin to break.
(We won't be made to beg.)
These ropes they will be the noose that hangs.
(We won't be lead astray.)
We now know your true face!
Spreading your message like a plague.
Twisting fear to make the masses obey.
We're all stuck in a rat race.
Now we've seen your true face!
Empires crumble to the test of time,
all you've worked to build will slowly (slowly) die.
We see the truth in your bloodshot eyes;
You're not the one to lead us to the light.
The shadows are where your home truly lies!
Feel your iron grip begin to lose it's might!
You can't silence the truth anymore, we're coming for you.
Try and hide we'll take our time and drown you out
like the fucking rat you are!
Suits can't hide the greed in your smile;
jagged teeth like shattered glass reflecting your guile.
Money can buy time but only for a while,
before hushed whispers become the keys to your own trial.
This is now
the beginning of a revolution.
We are done with your shit
Face the facts your time is up this is it!
Sheep have become the wolves out for blood.
The hunter now the hunted your time is up!
The poisons in the bait, just take the bite.
You will be made to beg, yeah, you will lose this fight!
Empires crumble to the test of time,
all you've worked to build will slowly (slowly) die.
We see the truth in your bloodshot eyes;
You're not the one to lead us to the light.
The shadows are where your home truly lies!
Feel your iron grip begin to lose it's might!
Oh, you've lead us astray.
Spouting rhetoric full of hate,
You're such a fake!
You'll drown in your mistakes.
We'll take back our lives.
Even if you have to die
this tyranny can't stand to rise
Empires crumble to the test of time,
all you've worked to build will slowly (slowly) die.
We see the truth in your bloodshot eyes;
You're not the one to lead us to the light.
The shadows are where your home truly lies!
Feel your iron grip begin to lose it's might!

Boy, they came a long way since their debut. Not that Disrepair wasn't any good or so, on the contrary. You'll understand what I mean, if you listen to both. In Extremis is a legit beast in every regard and clearly shows where Bereavement comes from. Awesome uptempo brutality with massive groove and fierce vocals. mourner
Death metal/deathcore hybridization done correct! All the atmospheric passages and samples feel right in place, with great sound. Instrumentation doesn't lack as well, but the vocals could've been a little less upfront. 8.5/10 liltito
